About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Screening in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener in a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will support a welcoming environment by screening visitors and monitoring access points. You will use a computer or tablet to document activity, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible, attentive presence. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a high-traffic technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific procedures and access-screening requirements.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and deliveries entering the facility in accordance with established policies, using available screening equipment and maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Verify credentials, identification, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation before permitting access to designated areas, and report discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited-item findings, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact emergency services and/or site leadership as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, screening areas, and perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
