About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Control Driver in Rensselaer, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location where you will support access control by greeting staff and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entries and exits, and documenting security-related activity. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, and deliver clear, respectful communication. This post requires a valid driver’s license and compliance with AU Driver Policy Requirements, backed by a team that acts with integrity and puts people first.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors at a healthcare research and manufacturing location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor badges, directing authorized persons to appropriate check-in points, and documenting entries and exits per site requirements.
  • Monitor and operate access control systems, cameras, and/or alarm panels; report irregular activity, maintenance issues, and policy concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including completing reports, preserving relevant information, and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, observe hazards or suspicious activity, and report findings per post orders.
