About The Position

As an EMT Certified Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol, in Reading, PA, you will be a member of a pre-hospital emergency care medical team. You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an EMT certified Security Officer at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for all. You will conduct regular patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. As this is a driving post, you will also be responsible for mobile patrols as required. A valid driver’s license is required to meet AU Driver Policy requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • EMT Certification is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by following established security-related procedures, location policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor access points and conduct credential checks for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers, maintaining visitor logs and supporting badge and key control processes as required by the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy concerns, and reporting findings per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and emergency services when needed and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and inspection records, and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts to support consistent security-related operations.
