About The Position
As a Security Officer Educational Building Patrol Specialist in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout school buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor activity while following access procedures for the location and assisting with directions, questions, and general support.
- Support daily operations at an educational location by remaining visible, observing student and visitor behavior, and reporting policy-related concerns and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
