As an Allied Universal officer at a government education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine mobile and on-foot rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related concerns. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, verify access permissions when required, and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious activity through proper channels.
  • Support an orderly environment at a public education location by providing directions, assisting with visitor processing, and following post orders related to daily operations, special events, and/or after-hours activity.
