Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Virginia DCJS license.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other assigned areas, assisting with access control procedures and reporting security-related concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Support a professional environment by providing directions, answering questions, and assisting with security-related requests while following post orders and Allied Universal standards.
