As an Allied Universal Security Officer on an access control post at a tech and telecom location, you will help manage entry points, greet employees and visitors, check credentials, support badge and visitor logs using a computer and/or tablet, and communicate concerns to the team. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols as assigned, and deliver a customer focused presence with integrity, teamwork, and a people first approach.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying credentials, and directing employees, contractors, and visitors according to site procedures.
Manage visitor processing by confirming appointments, issuing temporary badges, maintaining visitor logs, and communicating arrivals to authorized personnel.
Monitor alarms, access control systems, and closed-circuit video equipment, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of work areas, common spaces, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and notifying site leadership as required.
Screen and coordinate deliveries and service providers by verifying documentation, directing vehicles to approved locations, and documenting deliveries per site procedure.
Complete detailed written reports, including shift activity logs, incident reports, and access-related documentation, using required formats and systems.
Support coordination during evacuations, drills, and other emergency events by providing direction and information to staff and visitors as appropriate.
Communicate professionally with client representatives, internal teams, and local responders to share relevant information and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
