About The Position

As a Security Officer - Logistics Gatehouse in Jurupa Valley, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer, where you will greet employees and visitors, verify identification, manage badge access, and maintain clear logs for inbound and outbound activity. You will conduct routine rounds near entry points, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate updates with professionalism. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, verifying appointments and/or delivery documentation, and directing traffic flow in accordance with site procedures.
Screen incoming and outgoing shipments, trailers, and packages as required by post orders, and report irregularities through the chain of command.
Operate access control systems such as badge readers, visitor logs, and gate controls, and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching notifications and coordinating with site contacts and/or public services as directed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, dock areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other surveillance equipment where assigned, and document observations per site policy.
Communicate professionally with warehouse staff, transportation personnel, and site management to support orderly operations and address security-related concerns.
Assist with visitor and contractor processing, including issuing temporary credentials, confirming authorization, and providing site directions.
Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required records, and escalate concerns to Allied Universal supervision as needed.
