About The Position

As a Security Officer Credential Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will help manage entry activity, monitor assigned areas, and support a professional, respectful environment through strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post. You will remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents while bringing our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to each shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening and verifying credentials, and supporting security-related protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, manage visitor processing, maintain accurate access records, and help to deter unauthorized entry through consistent observation and adherence to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public agency personnel as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, remaining attentive to unusual activity, access concerns, and/or conditions that may require reporting or follow-up.
