About The Position

As a Security Officer Controlled Access Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and/or MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, and document visitor activity to help support authorized access and security-related operations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report concerns to site contacts and/or emergency personnel as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, controlled access points, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and helping to support security-related protocols.
  • Complete required logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and follow post orders related to restricted areas, key control, and movement throughout the location.
