As a Security Officer Control Access Monitor Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for visitors and staff. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel at a government facility by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures; assist with visitor direction and maintain required access logs and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed by established procedures.
  • Maintain professional communication with the public and facility personnel while reporting observations, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal supervision and designated site representatives.
