As a Security Officer Access Control in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible to help deter incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and access-control policies at an industrial location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, issue visitor or contractor badges, and maintain accurate access logs.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of building entrances, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Communicate observed conditions, access-control issues, and incident details to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision through clear reports and shift documentation.
