Security Officer City Services Building Access Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer City Services Building Access Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will work collaboratively with site personnel while demonstrating Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, and caring approach, acting with integrity in every interaction.
Requirements
- Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, families, and agency partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned government offices, public areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
- Support a respectful and professional environment for individuals receiving public services while following confidentiality requirements and established protocols.
