About The Position

As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Specialist in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entrances, check credentials, and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your presence will help maintain a secure environment while providing excellent customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have at least one year of law enforcement experience or two years of security supervisor or manager experience or three years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors and employees with security-related inquiries and directing them as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or suspicious activities to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or client representatives.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site-specific procedures, including evacuation assistance and coordination with emergency services when appropriate.
  • Maintain a visible presence at access control points to help to deter potential security-related risks and promote a secure environment.
