Job Description As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Control in Sulphur, LA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor entry points and patrol a dynamic chemical or petrochemical location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control access to the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activities.
Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
Provide customer service to clients and visitors by communicating security-related procedures and offering assistance as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter security-related risks and identify potential concerns.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities as required by site protocols.
Support emergency response activities when appropriate, coordinating with site personnel and Allied Universal as directed.
Maintain awareness of the unique operational environment and potential hazards associated with chemical and petrochemical facilities.
