Job Description As a Security Officer - Chemical Facility Access in Torrance, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor entry points and patrol designated areas within a chemical and petrochemical location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you interact with visitors, contractors, and employees, providing outstanding customer service. You will use technology such as computers or tablets to manage access and support the overall security-related operations, all while upholding Allied Universal's core values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry to the location.
Verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises in accordance with site-specific policies.
Provide customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting visitors and personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to observe for irregularities or security-related concerns.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or unusual occurrences to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
Support emergency response activities as directed by site procedures and Allied Universal guidelines.
