Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control activities, assist students, staff, and visitors with exceptional customer service, and contribute to a caring, agile, and reliable team culture built on integrity and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across the campus location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with campus contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and document security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Support a welcoming learning environment by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or emergencies through appropriate channels.
