As a Security Officer Badge Desk in CHANNAHON , IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily site operations through professional communication and customer service. In this role, you will help to deter security-related incidents while staying visible, using technology, and working with a team that values being agile, reliable, innovative, and acting with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, screen visitors and deliveries, and maintain visitor logs and other access records in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual conditions in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or first responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, with attention to restricted areas, gates, fencing, and other access-sensitive points.
  • Support security-related operations by reporting hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns that could impact access control, daily operations, and/or emergency procedures.
