Requirements

• Must have 2 years of Armed Security experience
• Must have an active Armed Virginia Security Officer Guard Card with Firearm endorsement.
• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and when appropriate, emergency response actions within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining prepared to serve in an armed capacity in accordance with post orders and company policy.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access, trespassing, theft, and/or other security-related concerns common to a healthcare environment.
• Support Allied Universal and site leadership by reporting hazards, unusual activity, and/or policy violations, and by assisting with de-escalation and customer care during routine and high-stress situations.
