About The Position

Meritus Solutions Group (Meritus) is seeking professional Armed Security Officers to support federal facilities and government operations throughout the Toledo, Ohio area and surrounding locations. This is a part-time position only. Full-time positions are not currently available. As full-time opportunities become available, eligible employees may bid on available shifts in accordance with applicable union rules and contract requirements. This role is ideal for individuals with flexible schedules who can support operational staffing needs across multiple sites. Part-time officers primarily provide coverage for full-time personnel who are on vacation, sick leave, or otherwise unavailable. Assigned work locations may include Toledo and surrounding areas such as Lima, Defiance, Sandusky, Bowling Green, and other nearby federal sites as operational needs require. FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of federal facilities, personnel, visitors, and government property.

Requirements

• Be a U.S. Citizen
• Possess a valid Social Security card
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum two (2) years of security experience; OR Prior military experience; OR Prior law enforcement experience
• Successfully pass a comprehensive federal background investigation
• Have no felony convictions or domestic violence-related offenses
• Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
• Be capable of preparing accurate written reports
• Successfully pass: Medical evaluation, Drug screening
• Active Ohio OPOTA Armed Security License (Required)
• Valid Driver’s License
• CPR / First Aid / AED certification

Responsibilities

• Access control and visitor screening
• Interior and exterior security patrols
• Monitoring facilities and surrounding areas
• Emergency response and incident management
• Security inspections and perimeter checks
• Maintaining accurate written reports
• Enforcing federal security procedures and post orders
