About The Position

The Armed Security Officer protects Choctaw Nation property, provides lifesaving aid when needed, responds professionally to high-stress and dynamic situations, and ensures applicable policies and procedures are followed. The role includes patrolling properties, investigating potentially dangerous situations, responding to emergencies, operating vehicles and equipment, and documenting security incidents. The position is full-time, with various shifts available. Pay is $18.00 per hour, increasing to $19.30 after completing the MMPI and Defensive Tactics Course. Weekly earned wage access is available as an option.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Receive “Capable” results from the department-issued MMPI.
• Be physically and mentally fit to perform all essential Security Officer functions and pass a physical fitness test.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Qualify yearly with department firearms.
• Be able to obtain and maintain an armed security license in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Access, retrieve, and log computerized data.
• Investigate unusual, suspicious, or potentially dangerous situations.
• Assist with emergencies, including active shooter incidents, medical emergencies, fires, and severe weather.
• Conduct regular patrols of internal and external Choctaw Nation properties.
• Maintain knowledge of Choctaw Nation regulations and procedures, follow applicable security rules, and preserve strict confidentiality.
• Operate department vehicles in accordance with state and local laws.
• As needed, operate emergency equipment and short-wave radios, and administer CPR and first aid.
• Write and submit incident reports about security issues, accidents, theft, or vandalism to the Security Supervisor.
• Refer dangerous situations or complex problems to a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
