Requirements

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout operational areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and report policy violations, suspicious behavior, and other security-related concerns in accordance with post orders.
  • Support incident response and routine site operations by preparing clear reports, maintaining awareness of changing conditions, and following Allied Universal standards for an armed patrol post.
