As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Specialist in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional environment through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, with attention to unusual activity and/or unauthorized access.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help support access control procedures and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations.
Assist with incident reporting, emergency communications, and coordination with site contacts and/or public agencies while maintaining professional firearm handling and post standards.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
