Security Officer - Armed_Flexi/PRN
About The Position
Sentara Health is hiring an Armed Security Officer for Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC to work on an as needed basis! This is a Flexi/PRN position with a rotating work schedule, meaning officers will be off every other weekend. The role requires flexibility due to the hospital's 24/7, 365-day operation. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. Officers must exercise discretion in the use of their weapons, only resorting to their use in extreme attack situations after all non-violent options have been exhausted. Responsibilities include documenting daily activities, conducting security investigations, evaluating situations, and ensuring professional and timely resolutions. Sentara has implemented a Fit for Duty assessment to ensure officers meet a minimum fitness standard. Additionally, officers must pass a Psychological Evaluation and Assessment conducted by a Sentara-selected service provider.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- 1 year Security experience
- Must pass the Psychological Evaluation and Assessment conducted by the Sentara selected Service Provider

Responsibilities
