About The Position

This role is for a Security Officer Armed at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, within the Security department. The position is full-time with a rotating schedule. The officer will be responsible for monitoring for security threats, responding to issues, investigating and documenting incidents, following alarm and emergency procedures, and providing safety information. If driving is required, safe operation of vehicles and adherence to traffic laws are expected.

Requirements

Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor for security threats and respond quickly to any issues.
Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards.
Follow alarm procedures and emergency/disaster plans; assist with drills when needed.
Provide safety information and assistance to staff and visitors.
If driving is required, operate vehicles safely and follow all traffic and parking laws.
