About The Position

Supports safety and security operations through patrols, monitoring, access control, and customer assistance, adapting to site-specific requirements and client expectations. Our Healthcare Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, and its patients and visitors -- and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property. Our Security Officers also provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
  • Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., help restrain or lift a person
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Tarian driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles).
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weapon.
  • Ability to pass the initial and semi-annual Tarian approved firearms training course to demonstrate proficiency in use of firearm.
  • Ability to participate and meet the requirements of additional firearms training at the discretion of the firearms instructor.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Tarian policies.
  • Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a Taser position and annually thereafter.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a Taser.
  • Ability to participate in and pass additional Taser training at the discretion of the Taser instructor and/or Tarian.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Tarian's Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER), Tarian's Taser Policy.
  • Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company.
  • Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business.
  • The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced.
  • All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
