As an Armed Security Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver's license. Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, substations, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access control points, verify authorization for entry, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
