As a Security Officer Armed Protective Patrol in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A Guard Card or License is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and follow site procedures for visitor, contractor, and vehicle entry.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, patrol records, and incident reports, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
