Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in alignment with post orders and applicable guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual behavior.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious persons, vehicles, and/or conditions to the appropriate contacts.
  • Document observed activity, incidents, and/or policy concerns in a clear and timely manner, and communicate with site contacts, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
