As a Security Officer Armed Perimeter Security in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

• Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Possess a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Possess an armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Possess CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate transit personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, parking areas, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations through established reporting channels.
• Maintain required documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity records, in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
