Requirements

• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A pepper spray certification is preferred.
• A CPR certification is preferred.
• A handcuffing certification is preferred.
• A baton certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency response partners.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, helping to discourage unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, packages, and/or vehicles as required, helping to control entry to restricted areas in accordance with site protocols.
• Carry and maintain assigned armed post equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and applicable laws, remaining prepared to address security-related incidents as directed.
