As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
  • Maintain a visible armed presence while conducting regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious persons, activities, hazards, or policy violations through established channels.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable procedures and coordinating with emergency responders when needed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and maintain professional communication with site personnel and the public.
