Requirements

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
  • Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and escalating issues to appropriate personnel and/or public agencies when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and support security-related operations.
  • Monitor entry points, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and help enforce restricted-access procedures in accordance with post orders and government location requirements.
  • Prepare accurate logs, incident reports, and activity records, and communicate clearly with supervisors, site contacts, and law enforcement regarding security-related concerns.
