As an Armed Security Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors, employees, and the public with professionalism. You will respond to situations with sound judgment, communicate clearly, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, transit riders, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of public transportation facilities, offices, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding perimeters to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established procedures, and assist with directing individuals to appropriate services or locations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned government transportation locations to help deter unauthorized activity and support an orderly environment.
