Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • This is primarily a driving post.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, government location policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in an armed post assignment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access activity and verify identification, credentials, and/or visitor authorizations in accordance with site protocols and applicable post orders.
  • Carry authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal standards, site requirements, and applicable laws while maintaining professionalism during public interactions and routine patrol activities.
