Requirements

• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associate Degree or 60 college credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including preparing clear and timely incident documentation.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and report unusual conditions, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Support emergency and public service operations by following post orders, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and communicating with supervisors, first responders, and/or site contacts as needed.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
