As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential hazards.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit activity, and documenting visitor, contractor, and delivery information as required.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with site contacts, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership when appropriate.
