As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a government corrections location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position involves conducting routine patrols, responding to security-related concerns, and delivering professional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Perform armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
