Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols in Edinburgh, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with clients and visitors, and contribute to a supportive team environment that values integrity, innovation, and reliability.

Requirements

  • A valid concealed carry weapons permit is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor for unusual activities or security-related risks and report any observations according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to those on site.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, patrols, and other assigned activities as required.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when needed, following all applicable procedures.
