Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols in Edinburgh, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with clients and visitors, and contribute to a supportive team environment that values integrity, innovation, and reliability.

Requirements

A valid concealed carry weapons permit is required.
A minimum of one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergencies.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
Monitor for unusual activities or security-related risks and report any observations according to established protocols.
Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned area to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to those on site.
Operate and maintain assigned equipment, including firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, patrols, and other assigned activities as required.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when needed, following all applicable procedures.
