About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Armed Financial Post in Waterbury, Connecticut. The role provides reliable hours at an assigned financial institution site, with a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The employee may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, potentially building up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week while retaining the ability to scale back. Pay is $23.76 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, 8:45 a.m.–5:15 p.m.

The officer provides customer service and performs security duties, including armed patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and documentation. Employment is conditional on applicable background and drug screening, and the employee must participate in industry-specific security training.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations; licenses may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or customers at a financial institution while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to alarms, incidents, and critical situations, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, parking areas, access points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials as required, and stay aware of visitor, employee, and contractor activity.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site policies and company procedures.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
