Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a dynamic transportation location, where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and support security-related operations through a visible presence and professional communication. Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, or a college degree, is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, authorize access for approved individuals, and document visitor, vehicle, and/or vendor activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or first responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, gates, yards, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require a security-related response.
  • Support screening and checkpoint operations by observing traffic flow, reporting access issues, and helping to maintain orderly movement of people and vehicles throughout the location.
