As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or permissions, and report unusual behavior, policy violations, and/or suspicious items in accordance with post orders.
  • Maintain readiness for an armed patrol post by following weapon handling protocols, remaining alert to changing conditions, and supporting response efforts during emergencies and/or high-priority incidents.
