At a dynamic government location, Allied Universal Armed Access Control Officers help monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a professional environment through visible presence, routine activity, and strong communication. This is an armed and driving post where you will interact with employees and visitors, help address security-related concerns, and deliver service with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit by checking identification, credentials, packages, and/or visitor records in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor information, and/or incident documentation to support daily operations and security-related reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, and report hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious activity according to post procedures.
