About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Credential Verification Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and personnel. This driving position offers the opportunity to remain visible, help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver professional service through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity with Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct individuals according to established access requirements.
  • Respond to access-control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, access points, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs and complete required reports related to visitor access, incidents, and security-related observations.
