As a Security Officer Armed - Badge Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location as an armed access control officer. In this role, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support daily operations through strong communication, customer service, and teamwork while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first values.

Requirements

  • Possess 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, credential checks, and security-related policies at an industrial location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or visitor documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to production, warehouse, and restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, with activities varying based on site conditions.
  • Document daily activity, access-related events, and unusual observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
