As a Security Officer Armed - Badge Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. In this role, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support daily operations through strong communication, customer service, and teamwork while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first values.

Requirements

• Possess 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, credential checks, and security-related policies at an industrial location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or visitor documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to production, warehouse, and restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, with activities varying based on site conditions.
• Document daily activity, access-related events, and unusual observations, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
