Join Allied Universal at a government location as an Armed Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and conduct routine patrols to help support a secure environment. In this role, you will remain visible to help discourage incidents, provide outstanding customer service and communication, and bring agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to daily security-related operations.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and/or visitor credentials before allowing entry.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and restricted areas for unusual activity and report security-related concerns in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Maintain visitor logs, issue access badges or passes as directed, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and/or vendors regarding entry requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned.
