About The Position

As a Security Officer Security Screener in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a dynamic government airport location, where you will help monitor screening areas, observe activity, and support access and screening procedures with professionalism and strong communication. Requirements

  • 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, travelers, and personnel by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Screen individuals, bags, packages, and/or personal items in accordance with post orders and applicable screening protocols while reporting prohibited items or unusual findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and support compliance with identification, credential, and visitor management procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agency representatives as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas, screening checkpoints, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
