About The Position

As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by screening people, vehicles, and/or materials, monitoring access, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and remain visible to help deter incidents. This is a driving position requiring a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen packages, shipments, and personnel entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures; identify and report prohibited items, irregularities, and suspicious activity.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and authorized access for employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors while maintaining accurate screening and visitor records.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading docks, facility entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations; report security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized access.
