As a Security Officer Afternoon Driving Patrol in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as a driving patrol officer at a dynamic education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and communication. In this unarmed role, you will bring reliability, integrity, and teamwork to each shift while helping create a welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across an educational campus environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with campus contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and report maintenance concerns, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations according to site protocols.
  • Support daily campus operations by assisting with directions, answering questions, and helping to address routine security-related concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
