As a Security Officer Access Screening in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, credential verification steps, and security-related policies at an aerospace and defense location.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas, facilities, and sensitive workspaces.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, first responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns according to post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unauthorized activity, unsecured access points, and conditions that may require follow-up or escalation.
